Swindon couple still in shock after winning the wedding of their dreams

Celebrations were still in full flow for one couple in Swindon yesterday, after triumphing in the final of The Brunel Wedding Show competition.
 
Lucy Rekowska, 31 and Carl Gillespie, 30, were crowned winners of a competition which saw competitors across Swindon competing for a £10,000 wedding.

 

Prize includes £900 bridal gown, chauffeur driven cars, wedding venue hire, hair and makeup, photography and more!

 

The winning couple have been engaged since Christmas 2013 and have been a couple for two and half years. Lucy said: “To go on and win the competition is totally amazing. It’s not computing yet, it probably won’t sink in until we can start the planning.”

 

 

Carl proposed to Lucy during their first holiday together, a trip to New York, having carried the ring around pinned to his coat pocket for several days.

 

The couple will tie the knot in a civil ceremony in September 2015 at Village Urban Resort hotel in Swindon, one of the sponsors of the competition prize.
