Maxx-imum ignorance
We investigate the most unbelievable headline of the year
Love them or loathe them, we think the headline in The Sun today is bang on - 'Fool Metal Jacket'.
The incredible news that discount store T.K.Maxx is selling jackets with knives sewn in to the lining.
A quite incredible story that, given the current issues surrounding knife crime in the UK and here in Swindon, we quickly followed up.
A SwindonWeb reporter visited the Swindon T.K.Maxx store this morning to ask the management if they were selling the controversial item - only to be met (not unexpectedly) with the answer 'no comment'.
Front-page news:
the headline story in The Sun

The Swindon store manager refusing to confirm or deny that the 'knife' jacket was still in stock.
Management did invite us though to look around the store to check for ourselves, which we did. A ten minute search failed to find the item in question.
When asked, an official statement from T.K.Maxx's head office in Watford confirmed that all 'knife' jackets had been removed from their stores. They could not confirm, however, whether any had been on sale in their store on Great Western Way.
