TK Maxx wins award for charity efforts
Swindon outlet beats the rest in the west
Swindon's TK Maxx superstore has been awarded for its efforts during a campaign by the retailer to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
The national GiveGet project, which offered customers the chance to donate old clothes in store, raised as much as £30 per bag for research in to childhood cancers.
And the Swindon store managed to collect more donations than any other outlet in the region - with more than 800 bags being generously given by locals.
Store manager Kate O'Shea said: "We'd like to say a big thank you to everyone who donated their unwanted clothing for the GiveGet campaign - we couldn't have done it without your support!"
Last time the bi-annual campaign took place, the GiveGet charity
raised an incredible £2.5 million worth of stock for Cancer Research UK, in one of the the biggest charity clothing collections ever.
This year GiveGet smashed that with a whopping £3.2 million.
