Doing it for the kids

Swindon bookshop urges shoppers to dig deep

Borders book shop are inviting customers to buy and donate children's storybooks over the next six weeks, in aid of the Great Western Hospital's children's ward.

Borders book drive in Swindon
Putting charity first:
store manager Matt Burt with
children's specialist Nicky Leonard

Following on from a successful pilot scheme last year, staff at the Orbital Retail outlet are urging people to dig deep - and for every 10 books donated, staff will donate one additional book.

Last year the store's collection filled two huge boxes, but they're hoping to triple that number.

"It was great to see so many books donated last time, but I'm hoping we'll smash the record!" commented Borders manager Matt Burt.

"It's a great chance for us and our customers to give something back to the community - and the best thing is, the books are going to our local hospital so we will be able to see the good work in action."

Simply visit the store at Orbital Retail Park before Wednesday 18th June to make a donation.
