The looks and colours

Which contrasting trend will you opt for?

The hotter weather is nearly upon us!

So, ditch the jumpers and winter thermals and get ready for a brighter, lighter look for the hottest trends this summer.

And I'm lovin' the fashion line up this year, inspired with styles from the past means there is definitely a look to suit everyone.

They are:

Gap
1. BOY SMART

Don't throw away your skinny jeans just yet.

It’s still all about shirts, slim trousers, full skirts and harder-edged tailored jackets.

Try teaming your jeans with masculine shirts and high heels for a great evening outfit!

Worth visiting: Monsoon in the Parade and Gap at the Outlet Village. You might just find a bargain!

2. BOUTIQUE FESTIVAL

What's that you may ask. And so did I when I first heard of it.

Monsoon
Well girls, it's essentially a soft, delicate and romantic look - and it's in big time this summer.

To get it right, you need to wear light layers with embroidered details.

And add a bit of lace for a feminine touch.
Look out for pretty florals, as in the picture left.

Adding a belt to complete the look.

Top style tip: Go for sweet purple and dusky blue shades with a hint of green.

Worth visiting: Marks and Spencer, Primark and the Brunel Centre - fabulous selection of vivid designs.

3. MARVELOUS MARITIME

Miss Selfridge
Nautical has always been a strong summer style - and this year is no different - even in land-locked Swindon!

Even if the closest thing to seafaring you'll be doing is a stroll down the Thames at Lechlade, it's a classic look that is sure to turn some heads.

And if the nautical look really floats your boat, why not experiment with a bit of pattern - with stars, spots and stripes set to be a winner.

4. ALL ABOUT THE DRESSES

H&M
There's a dress for everyone this summer.

From the mini to the maxi - the style this season is that anything goes!

Our shopping tip though is to get a variety of soft fabrics, great prints and retro shapes so there is a dress to grab for every occasion.

The must buys:

Something floral - florals are huge this season so make sure you have something with this print!

Re-visit the romantic look - it was one of our favourite trends last year - and yes, it's still here.

Worth visiting: Miss Selfridge and H&M for a great selection of different designs.

The COLOURS to be seen in...

1. THE FUCHSIA'S BRIGHT
You may hate football, girls, but Swindon Town FC have got it right this season - it's all about the reds!

Just think bright and beautiful, and you're half-way there!

And with fuchsia being the must-have colour make sure you have one item in your wardrobe that screams pink.

Top tip: If pink doesn't compliment your skin tone - team it up with something white.

2. MAKE IT CLEAN AND CRISP

Some have said this season's look is all about mixing and matching bright colours - but I'm not so sure.

In Swindon I think it pays to play it safe sometimes, so I'm recommending mixing those bold colours with crisp white.

That way you stay fashionable without looking like a complete tart!
