Deacon's Jewellers creates Limited Edition GWR pocket watch - WATCH VIDEO

 

 

To celebrate the 175th Anniversary of the creation of the Swindon Railway Works, Deacon & Son Ltd has produced a new limited edition gold plated timepiece.

 

The Skeleton Half Hunter pocket watch features the GWR’s most famous 4-6-0 express passenger locomotive ‘King George V’ and will be limited to just 175 pieces worldwide.

 

With its 17 jewel, hand-wound mechanical movement on a gold plated single watch Albert chain, the watch is beautifully displayed in a presentation box and retails at £225.00.

 

Deacon's and the GWR

Deacon & Son (Swindon) Ltd became a major supplier of timepieces to the GWR in 1853 when the company’s founder George Deacon became a sub-contractor.
 

The Regulator Clock by which all timepieces supplied to the GWR were tested stands proudly in the company’s newly refurbished clock and watch showroom, and is well worth a visit.
