A Billy Paynter double stunned Oldham after the visitors had the better of the first-half.

 

Town's leading scorer bagged his 18th of season with a screamer as half-time beckoned - only to follow it up with a penalty a minute later after Charlie Austin was brought down.

 

Two goals that knocked the stuffing out of an Oldham side that looked good value to be on level terms.

 

Go fourth.... Danny Ward makes it 4-0

 

"The goals certainly changed my half-time talk," commented a delighted Danny Wilson, who watched Austin make it three just after the restart before Ward added a fourth.

 

Oldham gained some consolation for their efforts with two late goals - the second in injury time much to Town's fans' frustration despite the win.

 

The victory lifts Town to 5th.
