Swindon recorded probably their most satisfying victory of the year thanks to - you guessed it - Charlie Austin.

 

The Robins' striker, playing upfront next to Danny Ward, rounded the Southampton keeper just before the hour to slot home his 15th of the season - and fire Town up to 4th.

 

The goal proving enough against an in-form Southampton side who had their fair share of chances but couldn't find their way past Swindon's resolute, if makeshift, defence.

 

The only black mark, Simon Ferry's late dismissal after receiving two yellow cards inside three minutes.

 

"What can I say?" beamed Danny Wilson, "we were superb. Absolutely superb."
