Seventeen-hundred Town fans were on their feet - some in disbelief - after they watched Paynter and Austin fire their side into the top two.

 

The Robins' striking duo on top form when it mattered most, as they stunned a poor Leeds once again with goals either side of half-time.

 

A win that lifts Danny Wilson's team into the automatic promotion places for the first time this season with just seven games to go.

After surviving a period of early pressure from the home side, mainly thanks to fine saves from David Lucas, Billy Paynter grabbed his first just before the break.

 

Town's leading striker latched onto a JP McGovern cross to volley home number twenty-three of the season high into the top-left corner.

 

A tally Paynter doubled when the forward showed his strength to turn and strike an unstoppable shot - this time in the opposite corner - just three minutes into the second-half.

 

A lead then extended seven minutes later by Charlie Austin with a close-range header that sent the travelling Town fans into raptures of unbridled joy, scenes matched at the final whistle.
