Swindon face a high-pressure home fixture on Tuesday just one place above the relegation zone.

 

Town's third defeat in row caused by poor defending in key areas "yet again when it mattered most", according to manager Danny Wilson, who promised changes for the visit of Tranmere.

 

"You can't expect to win games when you defend like that," he explained in a critical summary of this team's inability to keep a clean sheet.

 

"We played some good football out there but just let them score."

 

Early indication

 

The rot set in as early as the seventh minute when an unchallenged Will Hoskins chipped Phil Smith. A lead doubled straight after half-time when Jo Kuffour said thanks for a defensive mix-up for a second.

 

Briefly on-top, Swindon gave their travelling fans' hope when JP McGovern volleyed in the goal of the game - only for Jeff Hughes to head home Rover's third eight minutes later.
