The Fat Lady finally starting singing just after 4.10pm when Neil Mellor made it 3-1.

 

Until then Swindon had a glimmer of hope of recovering from two-down, especially after Jonathan Douglas grabbed his first in a Town shirt just before the break.

 

But Mellor's strike - and news that Walsall's were one-up at Oldham (ended in a draw) - means that Swindon will face the likes of Morecambe, Burton Albion and Stevenage in the bottom tier next season.

 

Hart still undecided

 

Whether Paul Hart will continue to be in charge remains unclear. The manager was content with describing his team's performance as "full of effort" before confirming he was "still undecided" about his future.

 

"I'm still thinking it over," he commented.
