Leon Clarke has agreed in principle to sign on-loan for Swindon Town after watching from the stands in tonight's 1-0 loss.
The Town manager admitted Swindon were second-best when it came to making the most of scoring opportunities in a game of few chances in open play.
Dagenham were the winners thanks to a 70th minute spot-kick after Paul Caddis was harshly ajudged to have fouled Gavin Tomlin.
"We need some quality. And quickly in my opinion," a hoarse Di Canio commented, after ninety minutes of belting instructions from the touchline and a post-match discussion with his players.
"Goals will energise the team. I'm sure they will come."
Clarke could start against Oxford on Sunday.
