Paul Caddis made the difference as Town cemented their place at the sharp end of League Two.

 

Swindon's captain and man-on-form provided the cross for new signing Ronan Murray to flick on for Jervis to open the scoring.

 

The deadlock broken after a first-half of few chances and little excitement.

 

And after weathering a brief spell of Aldershot pressure on the flanks, Swindon wrapped up the points when Jervis pressured the visitors' Darren Jones into firing into his own net.

 

"We were patient today and got the result we wanted," commented Paolo Di Canio.
