Town players were looking forward to their Christmas party tonight after easing past Morecambe.

 

Manager Paolo Di Canio threatened to cancel their festive bash unless they won today - and after twenty minutes it looked like the crackers and party-poppers were staying in the box.

 

But after a tough start, Swindon got a hold on poccession in midfield and Jake Jervis opened the scoring with aplomb when the on-loan striker headed home a Liam Ridehalgh cross.

 

The lead then doubled when under-fire Raffael De Vita grabbed one in injury-time.

 

Morecambe failed to mount a serious challenge in the second-half and Swindon wrapped up the perfect present their freezing home fans when substitute Ronan Murray made it 3-0.

 

The win lifts the Robins up to 5th, just five points behind the automatic promotion places. Their unbeaten run stretches to 15 games.
