A Christmas cracker deep in injury-time from Alan McCormack ended 2011 on a massive high for Town fans.

 

The Swindon midfielder started and finished a break-away move with just seconds remaining to seal an unlikely Robins' comeback.

 

One-nil down after a strangely off-form Matt Ritchie gave away a first-half penalty, Town lacked any creativity in midfield.

 

But when Alan Connell surprisingly grabbed an equaliser just after the hour before Oliver Risser was sent-off for a poor challenge on John Johnson, it looked like Swindon would salvage a point.

 

That was until Town survived a glaring miss from a clean-through Saido Berahino and McCormack produced a moment of magic urged on by Paolo Di Canio - who ended up dismissed to the tunnel after running across the pitch to celebrate with his players and the travelling Red army.

 

"This win means more than three points," exclaimed the excited manager.

 

The Robins rise to 5th.
