And if Town can win again on Tuesday night they'll top League Two.

Paul Caddis's penalty just before half-time after Paul Benson was pulled down edged a first-half neither side dominated.

And when Benson again poached Town's second just after the hour, Hereford looked beaten.

But a quick goal from the home-side just three minutes later gave the Whites hope - and with their backs-up they piled forward.

Under pressure, Di Canio (still banned from the touchline) brought on Risser and Smith to bolster Town's midfield but ultimately it was two fines stops from Foderingham that saved the points.

"I was very, very nervous in the last ten minutes for sure," Di Canio admitted.
