Paolo Di Canio admitted his players weren't prepared for the 'atmosphere' they encountered at the Kassam Stadium as Town lost a hot-tempered derby and their ten-game winning streak.

"It doesn't mean we're bad players or a bad team, we just didn't perform," Di Canio said.

"We lost this battle but we will not lose heart. The league is still ours to win."

Early sending off

Town were one-man up after only ten minutes when former-target James Constable was red carded for an elbow on Joe Devera.

But within another ten, they were 2-0 down after first Asa Hall stabbed home from close range and Oli Johnson rubbed it in with another tap in.

Shell-shocked Town could only manage a long-range effort from Matt Ritchie, which hit the post, in response.

And in the second-half it didn't get much better, as Town fans were taunted and frustrated in equal measure while Billy Bodin and Paul Benson both missed glaring chances.
