Swindon's push for a play-off spot got back on track with a comfortable 3-0 win over local rivals Cheltenham.
However, things could have been a lot different if Cheltenham had converted a couple of early chances, similar to the Huddersfield game on Saturday.
The visitors struck the Town post in the opening moments of the game, but that was as close as they came to providing any sort of resistance as Swindon ran out easy winners. Simon Cox grabbed his first goal as fully-fledged Swindon player on the 20th minute as he stole in to clip home the opening goal from Jon-Paul McGovern's low cross.
Town doubled their advantage just before half-time when the impressive Anthony McNamee crossed for Billy Paynter to head home. The resulting celebrations saw captain Hasney Aljofree pull his shorts down, which brought huge laughs from the County Ground terraces.
The second-half brought much of the same with the visitors struggling to create any real chances, apart from a speculative effort from Michael D'Agostino following a poor clearance from Peter Brezovan. The game was wrapped up with 10 minutes to go when substitute Christian Roberts lashed home Town's third - the tricky Welshman cut inside from his left wing berth and fired home in front of the jubilant Town End crowd. With a number of results going in their favour, Town move up a place into 10th in the table and only 5 points off a play-off place with two games in hand over a number of sides above them. Up next for Swindon is the tough proposition of an away trip to Nottingham Forest, but with positive memories of their recent victory, Town will travel with a belief that they can secure a victory that would see them move a step closer to their play-off dream.
