Swindon draw Wrexham away in the second round

 

Swindon avoided the proverbial FA Cup banana skin with a first-half goal from Billy Paynter.

 

Town's in-form striker bagging his seventh of the season on 36 minutes with a glancing header from a JP McGovern corner.

 

A goal that settled home fans' nerves and ultimately was enough to send Swindon into the hat for the second-round draw tomorrow despite another hour of tough resistance from the non-League side.

 

"It was a tough, physical game and quite a test," said boss Danny Wilson, "and all credit to Woking for that."
