Swindon bounced back in style from their last two defeats with an emphatic thumping of Tranmere.

 

Town boss Danny Wilson recalled Billy Paynter back to his starting line-up and he was rewarded with a first-half double from the big striker.

 

Further goals from Anthony McNamee and Celtic loanee Simon Ferry added the shine to what was a fantastic team performance against a poor Rovers side.

 

The only bright spot for the hosts was a consolation from front man Chris Shuker with 12 minutes left.

 

Despite Tranmere celebrating their 125th Anniversary it was the away fans who were left celebrating come the final whistle as they saw their side climb right back into the hunt for a play-off place and up into 7th in the League One table.
