Sport Relief Mile with a difference!
Dorcan Expressive Arts Teachers are Flippin' Mad
Snorkels, flippers and wet suits are not your usual attire for running!
But this is exactly what two expressive arts teachers from Dorcan Technology wore in aid of Sports Relief.
The pair joined their students in running the Sports Relief mile dressed as Scuba divers to help raise money for the worthy cause.
Kelly Sutton and Carl Sharpe came up with the idea when they heard the school was taking part in the worldwide event and managed to raise a massive £196.00 towards the schools charity donation.
The teachers managed to run the mile in 18 minutes and 26 seconds.
"I could hardly walk in the flippers let alone run in them," commented Kelly.
"It was a real challenge but so worth it when you realise where the money goes and how many lives it can change, I feel privileged to work at a school that supports and backs events like these, its so rewarding!"
"I'm just wondering what we are going to do for comic relief next year, running in scuba gear is hard to beat!" added Carl Sharpe.
