Mark Collier hailed his players as 'magnificent' as Supermarine's brilliant Cup run came to an end.

 

In a game of 'what ifs', Swindon's non-leaguers missed a number of chances to match their League One opponents, who scored the only goal of the game in the 21st minute.

 

David Mooney on-hand to fire home from 6 yards after Colchester caught Supermarine with a break-away move.

 

But despite his and his players disappointment at the result, manager Collier couldn't have been more pleased with the performance.

 

"We matched them here today," Collier said, "and I couldn't be more proud of what everyone at the Club has achieved.

 

"Yes, we had chances. Chris [Allen] went very close in the first-half and Jamie [Gosling] hit the post with a great effort. But that's Cup football.

 

"We can all hold our heads up high after this. It's been a Cup run to remember and we've gone out battling."
