Another Herc-ulean Effort!
300mph cruising speed? Not through Wootton Bassett!
Second Herc on the move
Sunday 16 January 2011 |
A second Hercules was on the road yesterday, a week after the first C-130 left Lyneham.
Travelling from RAF Lyneham the load was transported on the A3102 in convoy through Wootton Bassett to the M4, junction 16, before heading Westbound on its journey to Hixon in Staffordhire.
Herc on the move!

For a plane used to a cruising speed in excess of 300mph, it was quite a shock to see a Hercules C-130 passing through Swindon by road this weekend - at 10mph!
The 'Fat Albert' was on the move from RAF Lyneham to Hixon airfiield via special transporter, as the base prepares to wind down operations and close in 2012.
