Not again!

Wootton Bassett road closed after lorry strikes railway bridge

For the second time this year, traffic in Wootton Bassett road was severely disrupted after a lorry struck the railway bridge near DFS.

The accident happened just before 10.15am, with the road still closed to traffic heading for the Mannington roundabout six hours later.

Trains were also delayed while investigations took place to ascertain potential damage to the bridge itself.

Police were still at the crash scene at 5pm. The driver was uninjured.
