Two vehicles burnt out in fire drama outside pub
Highworth high street was cordoned off as a van caught fire - then exploded.
The drama unfolded just after 9.30am this morning outside The Saracens Head pub as smoke and flames first started coming from the cab of a red Vauxhall van.
The picture below - taken by SwindonWeb - shows the driver desperately trying to save his tools as the fire took hold.
Within minutes the van was fully alight, with thick, dense smoke pouring up the high street as onlookers witnessed the event.
A white Ford Mondeo parked directly behind soon became caught up in the fire before both vehicles exploded. The fire service arrived just after 10am and the fire was soon extinguished.
No one was reported hurt in the incident.
Fire damage to the pub is unknown.
