Here We Go Again!
Wootton Bassett Road closed as yet ANOTHER lorry hits the bridge
It's become almost a yearly event - a lorry driver misjudging the height of the railway bridge on Wootton Bassett Road.
Well, it's happened again!
At around 9.30am this morning a trailer from Ellens Express Transport Limited in Cricklade (should know better, lads!) struck the bridge near DFS, stopping traffic along one of Swindon's busiest roads until just after midday.
Fortunately, no damage was done to the railway line as the lorry struck the support beam designed to reduce the impact when accidents such as this occur.
