Poppy Appeal Fundraising In Swindon Town Centre

Hundreds raised as volunteers make special effort

Hundreds of pounds was raised in Swindon town centre today as volunteers made a real effort fundraising for this year's Poppy Appeal.

Outside the town hall there were military vehicles and collectors dressed in uniform - with the adjacent Co-op Bank helping out with free coffee to keep everyone going.

In The Brunel, cast members from the Western Players collected as they publicised their forthcoming production of Journeys End at the Swindon Arts Centre, with the British Legion also doing a grand job raising money outside M&S.

Well done to all!
