Swindon now has a brand new central library - which opened today.
With 77,000 books and 60 desks available for internet access, it was described by Swindon Borough Council leader Rod Bluh as 'an exciting new chapter for Swindon.'
Located in Regent Circus, the new library cost £10 million pounds to build, and replaced the 'temporary' library which sat on the same site for over 30 years.
The new three-storey building also features a cafe, a Learning Zone for tuition in computer skills, a Leisure Zone for families and a specialist Family and Local History section.
The library will be opening from 9.30am to 7pm, Monday to Friday; until 4pm on Saturday; and between 11am and 3pm on Sunday.
