Mayor cheques out of office
Local charities benefit from Michael Barnes' hard work
Swindon Mayor Michael Barnes handed over cheques totalling £25,000 pounds today, in a charity giveaway marking his last official day in office.

TWIGS (Therapeutic Work in Gardening Swindon), Broadgreen Breakfast Club, Swindon Therapy Centre for MS and the Swindon Samaritans the big winners in a year the mayor described as “a fantastic experience!”
Joining Mr Barnes to celebrate the charity boost included James Arkell, the chairman of Swindon Cares and other specially invited guests at the mayor’s chamber at the Civic Offices.
