Swindon Recruiter Tells Staff to get on their Bikes!
It's pedal-power all the way at Outsource UK for Children In Need!
Staff from Swindon’s leading IT recruiter Outsource UK will be getting on their bikes and pedalling 100 miles to help the BBC Children In Need Appeal.
But the intrepid cyclists from the company based at Churchward House, in the heart of Swindon’s historic railway district, won’t be going outside for their feat - because they plan to carry out their cycle on an exercise bike, which has been loaned for the occasion by Nuffield Health Fitness and Wellbeing Centre at Greenbridge.
Members of staff will take it in turns to put on the ‘Pudsey Pedal Power’, and aim to complete the 100 mile cycle between 8am and 6pm, on Friday 18th November – Children In Need day.
They aim to raise a minimum of £500 for the charity, and the staff have a few other ideas up their sleeve to pull in the pounds: they will be asking everyone to contribute to a ‘dress down’ day by wearing spotty clothing; they will be baking and selling cakes (with a prize for the most tasty); and running a guess-the-baby competition, from photos of staff members as tots.
“The team at Outsource worked hard to come up with a way to raise money that we could all get involved in,” said Anna Stretch, Outsource UK’s Recruitment and Training Manager. “We have a number of events going on, but the main one is the cycle ride. We will always have a team member cycling throughout the day, with everyone taking a turn, and we would like to say a big thank you to the Nuffield Health centre at Greenbridge for loaning us the bike.”
