Second repatriation of the week passes through Wootton Bassett

It was the second repatriation of the week for Wootton Bassett today as three more soldiers passed through the town.

Warrant Officer Sean Upton and Bombardier Craig Hopson of the Royal Artillery and Trooper Phillip Lawrence of the Light Dragoons all died as a result of explosions.

People gathered along Wootton Bassett high street to pay their respects before the cortege continued on to Oxford.

 

Today's repatriation marked what has been the worst month so far for British Army casualties in Afghanistan since the mission started in October 2001, with 22 soldiers killed.
