A record number of runners turned out for this year’s Swindon Half Marathon as 1,513 participants made their way around the 13.1-mile course itself, and hundreds of others enjoying the shorter all-terrain course and 2-mile fun run.

 

Now in its 7th year the event is considered Swindon's biggest sporting event.

 

 

Winner David Roper, 25, representing Cheltenham Harriers, strode over the line in 1 hour 12 minutes and 7 seconds, just a minute over the course record.

 

The first lady to cross the line was Emma D’Alton, 33, representing Westbury Harriers, who finished in 1 hour and 20 minutes.
