Community coaching day gets kids involved in athletics

 

Following on from The Street Athletics event that took place at Broad Green - Swindon Borough Council organised a free Community Coaching Day.

Qualified coaches took the hundreds of participants that turned up through athletic workshops in four disciplines: specialised sprints, hurdles, jumps and throws.

"The whole idea of Street Athletics is to get kids who wouldn't normally try it involved," commented Les Antoine from Street Athletics.

 

"It's great to see kids enjoying this introuduction and hopefully this will generate enough interest for them to carry it on."
