Doing Business with Swindon
Procurement conference promotes local trade
Over a hundred business people met to learn about how to do more business in Swindon today.
They attended an event organised by the Swindon Chamber of Commerce at the Liddington, where guest speakers and exhibitors spoke of the advantages of procuring services more locally - and the communication methods available to encourage it.
"It makes sense for everyone to do business in their local area," commented Rikki Hunt, chair of the Swindon Strategic Economic Partnership.
"Events like today give us all the focus to think Swindon first when buying services."
The conference concluded with a talk and demonstration by SwindonWeb on how the town's high-internet use makes it well placed to maximise the benefits of new business-to-business website tools.
