Bumper bank holiday
Bands, books, bubbles and break dancing kicks-off cultural celebration
It was a bumper Bank Holiday for those who gathered in Swindon town centre on Monday.
A mix of bands, bubbles, books and break dancing just some of the entertainment on offer as part of a May Day celebration organised by Swindon Does Arts.
A day that also coincided with the start of the BBC Big Weekend Fringe and the Swindon Festival of Literature.
"The location here at Wharf Green has been fantastic," commented Helen Miah, Head of Culture, Swindon Borough Council.
"And I am delighted to see so many people come to the town centre, on a Bank Holiday, for a cultural event."
And with the BBC Big Weekend taking place at Lydiard Park this Saturday and Sunday, and the Literature Festival continuing until mid May, Swindon's cultural celebration is all set to continue.
