Technology Strategy Board opens news North Star HQ
Swindon was at the centre for technology innovation today, with the opening of the new headquarters for the Technology Strategy Board [TSB].
Formerly part of the Department of Trade and Industry, the Board promotes and supports technological innovation in the UK and employs nearly 100 people.

Swindon MP Michael Wills, MP for North Swindon, joined Iain Gray, TSB Chief Executive, and local business leaders to officially open the new office.
"Swindon already has a strong reputation for attracting big business and high profile organisations and the official opening of the Technology Strategy Board’s new offices in the town is another feather in our cap," commented the North Swindon MP.
"We already play proud host to the Research Councils and the addition of the Technology Strategy Board to this already interesting and diverse mix of organisations is a real boost for civic pride,” the North Swindon."
Help for innovating businesses
Success stories for the TSB so far include advising and promoting projects as diverse as as fourth-generation mobile networks to the development of cheaper, greener fuel cells.
"Swindon is the ideal location for us to continue our role driving UK innovation forward," Mr Gray said.
"And, as we believe it's important to build relationships with local businesses, we've held this event as a chance to find out more about us and how we may be able to work together in the future."
