New Honda Civic rolls off the production line as 500 new jobs announced

 

The first all-new Civic rolled off the production line in Swindon today, as Honda announced a ramp up in production in 2012.

The South Marston car plant will return to a two-shift operation in the late spring of next year, creating a need for the new jobs in addition to the current 3,000 workforce.

 

Earlier this year, workers were put on a reduced working week after a fall in demand and problems with parts from Honda's flood-hit factory in Thailand.
