How Absolutely Shabulous! 

New shabby chic furniture & homeware shop opens in Highworth

 

Highworth High Street is bucking the trend with the opening of another independent retailer.

 

Absolutely Shabulous, which specialises in shabby chic & distressed furniture, celebrated its first day today, with owner Lesley Skipp delighted with the interest from browsers and the welcome from other shopkeepers nearby.

 

 

"It's been a fantastic day," Lesley told us, "everyone has been so kind and complimentary about the shop and what we offer.

 

"I've also had welcome cards and a lovely bouquet from Highworth Flowers. There's such a community feel about the high street that's lovely, which is just one of the reasons why I've decided to open here."

 

Her new premises are a step up for Lesley after successfully trying her shabby chic style at a smaller unit elsewhere in Swindon.

 

And with her passion for interior design and renovating vintage furniture & fixings for over 20 years, the former hairdresser is looking forward to making Highworth a real home-from-home for her business.

 

"I already feel at home here," Lesley added, "and that's so important to me. It's nice to part of a place that has got a real buzz about it."
