| Wendy Vickery is a longstanding OTTC member and plays Gertrude, Hamlet's mother. "Gertrude is extremely challenging – a truly ambiguous character. Did she know that Claudius had killed his brother, her husband? If she did, what does it say about her as a mother and as a woman in a society where power lies only in male lineage? Oh, and this is the third Queen I've played in just under two years – I always knew I had blue blood!" |
