Football & Food!

The best pubs to watch the game and grab a proper bite to eat in Swindon

The start of the new new Premier League season got us thinking here at SwindonWeb.

Which are the best places to watch the game and grab a proper bite to eat?

The pubs where you can sit down and enjoy a Full Monty Mixed Grill with Man United, sausage & mash watching the Saints, a lasagne with Liverpool or a Sunday Roast with Harry Redknapp.

Here's where we'd recommend.

Woodlands Edge
Sparcells, West Swindon

The football fan is extremely well catered for at this Hungry Horse pub, with television screens not only broadcasting all the live action on Sky Sports (that's 116 games) but BT Sport as well.

Food wise you can expect a wide variety to choose from and if you get there early enough you can bag one of their tables that seat six with in-built screens showing all the action.

Almost better than a corporate box!

20 At The Kings
Old Town, Swindon

If it's food and footy you're after, you can't go far wrong with 20 at The Kings in Old Town.

Not only do they serve their bar menu 7 days a week, they also have a number of TVs in all the right places beaming all the latest live action from BT Sport in the bar and lounge.

Mackenzies Cafe Bar
Old Town, Swindon

This open plan venue is ideal for a bite to eat in front of the big game. Offering everything you'd expect from a modern café-bar, they also show the 3pm matches so you won't miss a kick this season!

Rudis Bar & Kitchen
Regents Circus, Swindon

Always a fans' favourite for good food, Rudis is the perfect place to catch the Prem and Champions League team whilst enjoying an ice-cold beer and a bite to eat.

They serve food from 10am till 9pm Monday to Saturday - so even those awkward 5.30pm kickoffs on Saturday are catered for!

The Sun Inn
Coate, Swindon

Just a stone's throw from Coate Water Country Park, The Sun Inn is the ideal venue to enjoy a footy match with the family.

All 38 exclusively live matches on BT Sport will be shown, and the ever-changing specials board always ensures that there's something on the menu for everyone.

And the best pubs to enjoy the match with a pint and a packet of crisps...

Sometimes all you want are the football essentials - a half-decent view, a pint and a bag of Nobby's Nuts.

Old Town

The Plough
Sky Sports & BT Sport
Best small pub for atmosphere and craft ales.

The Clifton
Newly refurbished and all-geared up with BT Sport.

Town Centre

Rift & Co.
Sky Sports
Big games = big party!

The County Ground
BT Sport
The Town fans favourite.

West Swindon

The Windmill
Sky Sports & BT Sport
Always packed when the footy is on.

North Swindon

The Tawny Owl
Sky Sports & BT Sport
Big screens and bar staff in all the right places.

Stratton St Margaret

The Moonrakers
Sky Sports & BT Sport
Live sport aplenty!

The Bakers Arms
Sky Sports & BT Sport

The White Hart
Sky Sports & BT Sport
