Two Purple Gloves

a comedy by Michael Park

It's been a busy Christmas week at Tollerbay Shopping Centre but peace reigns, now that the late night shoppers have gone home. As midnight approaches, and she does her regular checks, the last thing security guard Connie needs, is an old tramp taking up residence on her patch. However, as they talk, he turns out to have quite a past, and they eventually find they have more in common than either of them would have suspected.

Isolation at Eyam

a drama by Joyce Dennis

In September 1665, the plague was brought to Eyam, a small village on the Derbyshire moors, in a box of clothing.

By the self-sacrificing example of the Rector, the Reverend William Mompesson, and his wife Catherine, the villagers remained within the limts of the infected area and so prevented the contagion from spreading to other Districts.

Out of a population of three hundred and fifty, two hundred and fifty died of the plague. This play is based on a true story.

Piégé

a drama, devised by its cast

‘Cognito Ergo Sum’. A famous pondering from the philosopher Descartes, stating 'I think therefore I am'. But what is it to think? Why does our brain generate these thoughts and ideas? And more importantly, what happens when our brain doesn't function? When our thoughts are affected by an absent synapse, or a uncooperative brain lobe? What happens when our surroundings control and dictate our thoughts? And when we start to lose all control over both our mind and body?

"Piégé" explores the answer to these questions, experiencing a variety of mental illnesses. The play deals with how easily the brain deteriorates away; how easily it can simply stop, and just how common psychological defects are. The cast ask you to open your mind's eye, and experience every feeling and thought, as they travel into the human mind, and show you that to think, really is to be.....

This play contains adult themes and strong language.

The Connection

a comedy by Graham Jones

Five strangers, with five very different problems, are called to a certain office to meet Mr Hargreaves... But he isn't there! Is there a more sinister reason for them being locked in together? Can they find out what connects them?

Not so much a whodunnit as a 'what on earth is going on'? as it morphs from a comedy of mistaken identity to thriller and back.
