A bus out of Kansas City pulls up at a roadside diner during a howling snowstorm. All roads are blocked and the weary travellers are going nowhere.

Cherie has the most to worry about. She's been kidnapped by a 21-year-old cowboy who's determined to marry her.

Meanwhile, the owner of the diner and the bus driver develop a friendship of their own; a middle aged scholar comes to terms with his murky past and a young girl working in the diner also gets her first taste of romance.
