Hamlet

Previous Page Hamlet Next Page

Hamlet: "To Be, Or Not To Be" – The text projected in the background reads "Why I've Not Yet Killed Myself (with an extract from "Unclear Path: Why Animals Quit by Sir David Attenborough") I wanted to tackle what I've thought as a massive misunderstanding – most people think that the point behind 2BRNt2B is Hamlet contemplating suicide – but it's not... it's Hamlet lecturing the audience to explain why he hasn't done what the Ghost's asked yet... And so the projection falters and bits drop off, until it reads "Why I've Not Yet Killed My / Uncle".

It's also why I delivered half of the speech in David Attenborough's voice – I wanted to make it clear that Hamlet starts by putting forward someone else's point in order to argue against it in defence of his own inaction... It may've worked, or it may've just been something silly.
