Our winning entry in the Harold Jolliffe One Act Play Festival 2008
This is a play about dock plants. Yes, the ones you rub on your ankles when you’ve just been stung by nettles. Three such docks, called Vera, Mavis and Jack sit in the garden of an elderly couple, where they discuss the triumphs and tribulations of, well, being weeds. A surprisingly funny, yet touching, take on those plants we pretty much ignore in our gardens.
The Harold Joliffe One Act Play Festival took place at the Arts Centre, Swindon, from Thursday 14 to Saturday 16 February 2008. OTTC's performance took take place at 7.15pm on Friday 15 February (the second night of three).
Having won the competition, we now move on to compete in the AETF Quarter Finals on Saturday 19 April at the Princes Hall Theatre, Princes Road, Clevedon, Somerset.
