Based on the true story of the relationship between
writer and Oxford don, C.S. Lewis and the poet, Joy Davidman, "Shadowlands"
is a sensitive portrayal of the friendship that developed between
a middle-aged bachelor and an American divorcée.
Set in the male-dominated, cloistered world of 1950s
academia, the play explores the arrival of an American woman into
the life of the author of "The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe".
Gently amusing, touching and tragic, "Shadowlands"
is a perceptive and unsentimental account of love and loss.
