Feast of talent at the one act play festival
Swindon's One Act Play Festival has a wealth of talent spilling
out this year with 13 entries battling it out in the drama stakes.
The festival is run by the Swindon and District Theatre Guild at
the Arts Centre Devizes Road in Old Town.
The Swindon festival incorporates stage one of the Western Area
of the All England Theatre Festival...
The Old Town Theatre Company's play is Amelia and the Man written
by Christine Lang.
Christine particularly asked the actors from OTTC if they would
like to perform her play.

Trophies galore for Old Town Theatre Company
Swindon drama groups pulled out all the stops at this year's One
Act Play Festival and scooped an armful of trophies.
The overall winner was the Old Town Theatre Company with the play
Amelia and the Man.
The group goes forward to Stage 2, the Central Divisional Final
of the All England Theatre Festival. The actors were presented with
the Betty Peck Rose Bowl...
Wendy Vickery from OTTC won the Audrey Suter Trophy for best actress
and Steve Wheeler, also from OTTC, picked up the Lester Trophy for
best actor in a supporting role. Best director went to Lance Hodges
of OTTC. He won the Peter English Award...
The festival, run by the Swindon and District Theatre Guild, was
held at the Arts Centre, Devizes Road all last week.
Organiser Joan Cheshire said that Amelia and the Man by OTTC was
a very good play.
"It was a winner for me and I was glad to be proved right," she
said.
