Wendy says that Florence is a woman who, ‘believes that her enduring youthful spirit and sexuality provide her with a passport to an endless procession of young lovers. Her biggest fear is growing old. If she should lose her looks and youth, she'd lose everything." All of this comes at a cost though, says Wendy. "It comes at the expense of her relationship with her husband, and her son, who's seriously starved of genuine motherly love and affection."
Stuart Quinn plays Florence's young lover, Tom Veryan. "This is a soap opera set in the 1920s – Noel Coward style!" says Stuart. "It feels as though each character is a time bomb and with all the jealousy and obsession in this play, it's not going to take much to set any of us off!"
