At the centre of the web of evil are the Duke and Lady Felmet, played by Dave Howell and Wendy Vickery. "The Duchess is ruthless," says Wendy. "She’s got a strong sense of irony and a sado-masochistic streak to boot!" It’s hand about the irony because Wendy says that Wyrd Sisters is essentially a morality play with a touch of irony.
As for the Duke? Well, Dave Howell says he’s a poor henpecked man haunted by his hideous crime. "Oh yeah," he adds, "he’s quite, quite mad..."
